LAHORE: The Lahore Tax Bar Association’s Election 2017-18 was challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC). The court also issued orders to the Registrar Cooperatives to decide the case in a month.
Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard the appeal of Manzoor Hussain Advocate in which complainant argued that the elections of the Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) were rigged. The elections of the LTBA were not processed through biometric system and the voter-list was not issued before the two months of the elections.
He added that fake votes were cast in the Lahore Tax Bar Association elections. According to the election laws, the existence of election tribunal was necessary before fifteen days but tribunal was not constituted till date.
Appellant prayed the court to declare null and void the elections of the LTBA for the year 2017-18.
After hearing the arguments by the complaint, the court ordered the Registrar Cooperatives to hear the parties and decide the case within a month.
