LTU collects Rs 24.1 billion in May 2016

LAHORE: The Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs 24.122 billion in May of the current fiscal year.

According to details, it collected Rs 16.144 billion in wake of sales tax, Rs 4.655 billion under the head of income tax and Rs 3.323 billion as federal excise duty (FED).

Meanwhile, the LTU collected Rs 117.548 billion as sales tax, Rs 62.197 billion as income tax and Rs 18.714 billion FED during the first eleven months of the current fiscal year.

Officials said that Lahore LTU Chief Commissioner Chaudhary Safdar Hussain has directed the subordinates to expedite efforts in order to meet the revenue targets for the year. It may mention here that the FBR has appreciated the performance of the LTU in last fiscal year.
