LTUs, RTOs start mentioning bar code on tax notices

ISLAMABAD: Large Taxpayer Unit and Regional Tax Office Islamabad have started mentioning bar code on tax notices under the income tax ordinance 2001.

According to sources, after the directions of FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa, the Large Taxpayer Unit and Regional Tax Office have started mentioning bar code on tax notices. Now all the notices about tax would be sent through computerized system, ‘bar code’ and ‘unique identification number’ would be mentioned under the notice.

Sources added that database officers and auditors of all LTUs and RTOs were gave training about bar code and its print on notices.

It is important to mention here that FBR has already advised the taxpayers to check their notices on the FBR’s website whenever they receive notices and if someone received notice without bar code he/she must inform the FBR.
