VICTORIA: Confirmation of the partnership between CoolDrive and Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport underlines the importance of motorsport to CoolDrive’s company culture.
Blanchard steps aboard the LDM Commodore for the 2015 season after a stellar performance for the team co-driving with Russell Ingall in last year’s Endurance Cup.
TIM Blanchard will race the 2015 V8 Supercars season with the colours of CoolDrive Distribution aboard his Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport Holden.
Blanchard returns to the category to as a full-time driver this year after pairing with Russell Ingall for last year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup.
“Having worked with LDM last year and seeing the enormous change they’ve undertaken since then in terms of staffing and resources, I am very excited about the prospects for this year,” Blanchard said.
“It’s a team determined to improve its performance, I think I am joining them at the right time and I am looking forward to taking the CoolDrive brand to the sharp end of the field.”
Blanchard has strong ties with the automotive airconditioning company, who helped sponsor his debut V8 season at Dick Johnson Racing in 2013.
“Motorsport has been an intrinsic part of the CoolDrive business since it’s inception,” CoolDrive marketing manager John Phair said.
“It’s the perfect platform to promote our brand and to demonstrate the performance and quality of our products, and it speaks directly to our customers … the majority of whom are interested in the sport in one form or another.
“That’s why it’s important to have an involvement at the professional end of the sport, through V8 Supercars, but equally also in Historic Racing, hill climbs, rallying and the many other forms of the sport.”
After running with two plain white cars at the V8 SuperTest earlier this month, the announcement confirms the sponsorship package for one of their two entries.
The livery of Nick Percat’s No. 222 Holden has yet to be revealed.
