FRANCE: Some parts of the country are going to face total lunar eclipse in the hours to come. It is needless to say that excitement is very high among people who love celestial developments.
But the total lunar eclipse will give the miss to most parts of the nation except eastern Arunachal Pradesh where people will be able to watch the total lunar eclipse of the year later today.
The total lunar eclipse comes on the heels of the blood moon that happened merely for five minutes. Thankfully we will be able to watch the blood moon once again a few months from now in September.
Astronomers and sky-watchers are excited. Dr. Debiprosad Duari, Director, Research and Academic of Kolkata based MP Birla Planetarium says that Roing and Tezu areas in India’s north eastern most Arunachal Pradesh will be witnessing the total lunar eclipse which will last for four minutes 43 seconds. The eclipse will occur after the moon rise. The moon will be rising during the eclipse at Dibrugarh, Kohima, Imphal and Port Blair.
So the total eclipse will be for just a few minutes. As far as the timing is concerned, the moonrise will be around 5.50 p.m. in Kolkata and the partial eclipse will be seen at that time. It will end around 7.14 p.m. He also said that the lunar eclipse will begin at 3.45 p.m and will remain total until 5.32 p.m. After that, partial eclipse will last up to 7.14 p.m.
