KARACHI: M/s N.R Enterprises has approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) and filed a constitutional petition seeking renewal of customs clearing license which was not renewed due to lodging FIRs against the petitioner by licensing authority.

He further stated that on December 31, 2020 the petitioner’s license expired and petitioner immediately applied for renewal of the same and paid the necessary fee, in spite of payment of fee for renewal and completion of all the formalities the customs officials did not renew the license of the petitioner.

He argued that after several visits the office of customs department the petitioner was informed that due to instruction/ orders of high officials they cannot renew the license of the petitioner and petitioner also was informed that due to registration of cases/FIRs against the firm of the petitioner the instructions were issued to the licensing authority not to renew the license of the petitioner.

He further argued that due to non-renewal of the license the petitioner is unable to continue his business and earn livelihood for family as business of customs clearance is the only source of his income.
