INDORE: Madhya Pradesh state excise department has seized 150 litres of alcohol from the premises of a city based trade centre here on Monday. Approximately, 75 litres of beer and 75 litres of foreign liquor including whisky, brandy, rum has been seized.
A team of seven excise officials visited the premises of Bansi trade centre at MG road. Based on the information of a source, the department had carried out the operation. Accused Devendra Verma has been arrested by the department who is alleged to carry out illegal home-delivery of alcohol to his customers.
BL Dangi, Assisstant District Officer (ADO), Madhya Pradesh state excise department, said, “Alcohol was stored in the boxes, suitcases and bags at the godown of the trade centre. Each box carries around 10 beer bottles and 20 such boxes at the godown have been seized. The accused was carrying out illegal supply of the large variety of alcohol. Further investigation is still on and we are finding out of if any other information concerning it comes out.”
