‘Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005’: RBI to issue Rs10 denomination bank notes

Mumbai: Reserve Bank will soon issue Rs 10 denomination bank notes in the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005’, incorporating rupee symbol and inset letter ‘N’ in the numbering panel, it said.

RBI said in a notification, “It will incorporate rupee symbol on the obverse and the reverse, with inset letter ‘N’ in both the numbering panels, bearing the signature of Governor Raghuram Rajan, and the year of printing ‘2014’ printed on the reverse of the banknote.” The design of these notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to the Rs 10 denomination bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005′ issued earlier, the notification said.
