KARACHI: Despite the passage of last date of the fiscal year 2014-15, a majority of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials did not submit their tax returns.
Well-informed sources told Customs Today that a total of 400 officials out of 1,800 officials of the FBR did not clear their outstanding dues. Some officials submitted their tax returns manually instead of submitting them online. Sources further revealed that some high officials of the FBR are also among those who did not submit their tax returns for the year 2014-15.
Sources said that strict scrutiny of tax returns will be conducted and all expenditure of officials will be thoroughly examined. They said that strict action will be taken against those who did not submit their tax returns willfully.
