KUALA LUMPUR: Royal Malaysian police have arrested four men, including two Middle-Eastern citizens and seized some 90.78kg of “khat” leaf worth RM50,000 here the other day.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noorashid Ibrahim said the drugs were seized at KL International Airport Cargo terminal and at a premise in Klang Valley.
“We believe the leaf contains a drug called cathinone.
“It was smuggled from Uganda and meant for middle-easterners in Malaysia,” he told Customs Today.
He added the syndicate had declared the cargo of drugs to be tea leaf and Henna materials.
