Malaysia police size drugs worth over RM70,000

MALACCA: Police arrested a 22-year-old Malaysian and seized drugs worth over RM70,000 during a raid at a condominium in Klebang here.

State narcotics crime investigation department head Superintendent Maidu Abu Bakar said the male suspect was believed to be involved in dealing drugs for the past two months.

“We have received a public tip off and following this, we arrested the suspect at a parking lot in a condominium in Klebang here at 4.45pm on Thursday. “We found two packets of heroin weighing 238.1g in his sling bag.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect brought us to his rented unit where another 10 packets of heroin weighing 1,764g and seven packets of syabu weighing 533.7g were confiscated,” he told a press conference here today.

He said several types of equipment used for packing drugs, including a digital weighing scale and plastic seal machine were seized. The suspect, a Malaccan, was tested negative for drugs and has no previous criminal record. He was remanded until Jan 27. Maidu said a motorcycle worth RM2,500 was also seized. The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
