Malaysia wants more cargo, passenger vessels to call at Kuantan Port

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia wants more cargo and passenger ships from all over the world to call at the Kuantan Port which is located in a strategic route, now known as the Maritime Silk Road.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the route – connecting China and other strategic locations in the region – was capable of improving the national economy, especially the tourism industry.
