KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian suspect Edwin Ong claimed he had smuggled drugs 21 times from Malaysia to Jakarta before being arrested at Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

“I had managed to smuggle drugs into Jakarta from Malaysia 21 times,” Ong told. Ong said he smuggled in the drugs based on orders from a drug dealer identified only as R, a Pakistani citizen currently detained at Cipinang Prison in Jakarta. Ong claimed he had often communicated with R. Ong said the crystal methamphetamine he smuggled was also on the orders of R. He added R told him to deliver the drugs for distribution in Medan.
