Malaysian police bust drug lab

GEORGE TOWN: Police discovered a mini drug laboratory here following the arrest of a 50-year-old man in a raid conducted at Greenlane on Wednesday.

Penang Narcotic deputy chief Assistant Superintendent Lee King Chuan said police seized 9.3kg of heroin, 42.7kg of caffeine, nine bottles of acid and several types of equipment used for packing drugs at the crime scene in the incident occurred at 10.30pm on the day.

“The seized drugs are worth RM300,000. “The team also seized a BMW car worth RM200,000, a Mitsubishi Pajero, two Rolex watches, one Rado watch, RM41,000 cash, 1,000 euro dollar, gold bracelet and two laptops estimated to be worth RM315,000,” he told reporters today.

Lee said the case was being investigated under Section 39(B) of the Dangerous Drugs Act for distributing drugs, which carried a mandatory death sentence.
