Malaysian police seize 29kg drugs in two raids

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have detained seven men and a woman in connection with drug trafficking and seized drugs weighing 29kg in two separate raids here the other day.

The drugs seized in both raids were estimated to be worth RM277,000.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa said during raid, the police nabbed four men and a woman at a terrace house in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

He said the police seized various types of drugs, including heroin, ketamine, syabu and ingredients for processing drugs from two rooms and the kitchen.

“On the same day, a man was picked up in Sentul in connection with the seizure of various types of drugs, including 160 packets of syabu and 70 Eramin-5 pills,” he told a press conference at the city police headquarters here Thursday.

In the operation on Saturday, Tajuddin said two men were arrested in Bangsar in connection with the seizure of ganja worth about RM7,000.

“We believe that all eight suspects are linked,” he added.
