GEORGE TOWN: Police seized some RM300,000 worth of cannabis from a drug dealer based in Bayan Lepas here the other day. Police found the drugs packed in 85 slabs in the trunk of a car.

Penang Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department chief Superintendent Guan Beng Kang said the man was initially detained in Alor Star, Kedah. “He brought us to his apartment in Relau, Penang. We later discovered the drugs in the trunk of his Honda Civic car. “We believe he could be part of a bigger syndicate operating in the northern region,” he said in a press conference at the state police headquarters here today.
