DUBLIN: That’s according to new research from Deloitte, Manchester Airports Group (MAG) and inward investment agency MIDAS.
The sixth wave of international business traveller research, which monitors trends and changes in inbound business traveller behaviour at Manchester Airport, indicated that over a third of those who travel here on business come from either Germany or the USA.
Just short of 40 per cent of high frequency visitors were from Germany, and of those identified as wanting to expand their operations in the north west, over 37 per cent were from German manufacturing firms.
The research also found that 29 per cent of those staying for seven days or more were from Germany or the USA.
It’s thought that the increase in direct flights between Manchester Airport and the USA are helping to boost the number of American travellers coming here on business.

The results of this year’s survey also show that our delegation visits and efforts to collaborate more with the USA are having a positive impact.
“This, together with recent Deloitte findings into the number of TMT deals that the north west and USA have collaborated on, underlines the potential and sustainability of our links with the USA.”
