MARC revises up 2017 GDP growth to 4.3%

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Rating Corp Bhd (MARC) expects gross domestic product (GDP) growth to improve to 4.3% in 2017, mainly attributable to the stabilizing pace of domestic demand and resilient external demand.

Its chief economist Nor Zahidi Alias said the forecast has been revised from 4% initially.

He said Malaysian economic growth continued to remain resilient as evidenced by a rebound in GDP growth in the final quarter of 2016.
