Market of 85 regions: TDAP delegation to visit Russia to boost trade ties

KARACHI: With an objective to set up direct links with Russian business community, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive SM Muneer has said that the authority is sending a delegation to Russia in April.

He said this during a meeting with representatives of Trade Commission of Russia, Chief Expert Maxim Gromakov, and Consultant Alexey Kudryavtsev at his office.

The Russian representatives showed keen interest in boosting trade relations between both the countries and highlighted that the Russian government was looking for new trade partners after sanctions imposed by the Western countries. They informed that their government had announced a special policy for investment and trade for new partners in the Asia region in all fields.

They informed the TDAP chairman that the Russian Federation was comprised of about 85 regions which offer a huge market for Pakistani products besides huge demand for food, and pharmaceutical products. It was also highlighted that the demand for Halal products in Muslim population regions of Russia was also rising.

The TDAP chief executive assured them of maximum cooperation and the authority’s support for the expansion of bilateral trade.
