Market Unions delegation visits ICCI to highlight traders issues

ISLAMABAD: A delegation comprising representatives of various local Market Unions visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and held a meeting with its President Khalid Iqbal Malik to apprise him of key issues of traders. Raja Fiaz Gull President I-8 Markaz, Muhammad Hussain General Secretary Super Market, Fasiullah Khan General Secretary Jinnah Super, Raja Zulfiqar General Secretary G-9 Markaz, Zahid Rafique General Secretary of      G-11 Markaz, M. Ejaz Abbasi, Ajmal Baloch President Markazi Anjuman-e-Tijaran Pakistan, Khalid Chaudhry and others were in the delegation.

Addressing the delegation, Khalid Iqbal Malik said that ICCI will play its role in resolving the issues of local markets. He said all market unions should send their written issues to ICCI so that a meeting with Chairman CDA could be held to address their issues. He said CDA has not undertaken any development works in markets since long due to which traders were facing many problems. He hoped that the new Chairman CDA would give priority attention towards the better development of basic infrastructure in markets in order to facilitate the growth of business activities. He said ICCI in collaboration with local markets would organize festivals to promote business activities in the federal capital.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

Ajmal Baloch, President, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tijaran Pakistan said that the business community of Islamabad will fully cooperate with ICCI in its efforts aimed at facilitating the growth of business activities. He called upon CDA to take concrete measures for resolving issues of traders. He said only ICCI could organize festivals in markets. M. Ejaz Abbasi, former President ICCI said that all written issues of markets will be placed before the Chairman CDA and hoped that he would play positive role in their redress.
