NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki is ready to introduce its most anticipated crossover vehicle S-Cross in India. Slated to be launched this month, the S-Cross is Maruti’s first crossover to be launched in India. While the carmaker had been quite tight-lipped about the cars offerings, recently some new information has surfaced that gives us a detailed variant-wise list of feature that will be offered in the 2015 S-Cross.

Accordion to reports Maruti S-Cross will be offered only in two diesel options a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and a 1.6-litre DDiS 320. While the smaller unit will produce a maximum power output of 90.2 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque, the larger 1.6-litre oil burner churns out 119.6 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox respectively.

Initially the S-Cross will only come in FWD option, while we believe an AWD variant might be launched at a later date. In India the S-Cross will be going up against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Hyundai’s upcoming compact SUV Creta. Maruti will offer the all-new S-Cross in eight different variants that are categorized under two models DDiS 200 and DDiS 320. The former model comes in five variants, while the later comes in three.
