Marvi says to introduce corruption, mafia-free system for BISP

KARACHI: Minister of State and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon has said that a corruption and mafia-free system is being introduced for the BISP.

She said this while talking to the elected-representatives of the local bodies at the Pakistan Institute of Management. Marvi urged the local body representatives to serve the poor in collaboration with the management of the BISP. She said that the BISP would again conduct pilot survey in 16 districts in the country this year.

The BISP chief asked the representatives of the local bodies to supervise the process so that the mistakes of the past survey could not be repeated. She said that in the new survey there would be door-to-door exercise as well as self-registration process.

The BISP chief said that they should also guide the people so that anyone deserving is left may be registered as our aim is to serve the poor masses. She also handed over a list of 95,000 individuals of Karachi to the city’s representatives in the presence of representatives of all the political parties.
