FRANCE: In a latest astonishing discovery NASA’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) spacecraft found out for the first time an unexplained high-altitude dust cloud as well as aurora lights reaching deep into the Martian atmosphere.

The dust was discovered at orbital altitudes from around 93 miles to 190 miles above the surface. It is still mystery from where the dust is coming from. However the dust posed no danger to MAVEN as well as other spacecraft orbiting Mars.

The cloud was detected by the spacecraft’s Langmuir Probe and Waves instrument. It was found to be most dense at its lower altitudes. It is supposed that may be the dust comes from Phobos and Deimos, the two moons of Mars. It might have moved in on the solar wind or it could be debris coming from comets orbiting the sun.
