MCC Appraisement-West holds series of auctions to achieve revenue target

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-West on the directives of Collector, Muhammad Saleem has issued an auction schedule for the imported vehicles and general cargo.

According to the schedule, the auction of confiscated vehicles and general cargo is to be held until June 24, 2014 at different terminals including Al-Hamd Warehouse, BOML West Wharf and SNK Bond Warehouse.

Auctions of the imported vehicles and general cargo were held on June 11, 2014 at Al-Hamd Warehouse, located at Mauripur Road.

The second auction of the imported vehicles and general cargo is to be held on June 14 at the same venue i.e. Al-Hamd Warehouse, while the third auction of the general cargo would be held at BOML, West Wharf on June 17.

The fourth auction of imported vehicles and general cargo would be held at Al-Hamd Warehouse on June 21 while the fifth and last auction of general cargo would be held on June 24 at SNK Bond Warehouse.

Deputy Collector Auctions Naveed Iqbal will supervise the entire auction process in all terminals.

Sources said that the auctions would play a significant role in revenue generation by the end of fiscal year 2013-14 as it helps to get closer to the revenue target set by the Federal Board of Revenue for the month of June, 2014.
