Appraisement-West streamlines revenue recovery procedure

KARACHI: The Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB/R&D) of Model Customs Collectorate MCC Appraisement-West has expedited its revenue recovery procedure in order to collect as many as revenue by the end of current fiscal year 2014-15, it is learnt here.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Collector MCC Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem has issued clear directives to the authorities concerned of AIB/R&D to utilize all available resources to ensure recovery of stuck revenue.

“Following the directives of the Collector, MCC-Appraisement-West, the authorities concerned of AIB/R&D and legal branch have prepared a revenue recovery list of the cases in which recovery is being due and also issued demand notices to different importers in this regard”, sources added.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Collectorate was also opened the revenue recovery cases since 1990 which had already been adjudged and recovery is being due on different importers who were taken inadmissible benefit of SROs and other concessionary regimes.

It may also be mentioned here that the Collector MCC Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem has already disclosed that the Collectorate has already achieved its 99 pe cent revenue target 15 days before the end of current fiscal year2014-15 and now working on to achieve the monthly revenue target.

The sources further said that the recent efforts of AIB/R&D authorities concerned towards revenue recovery show that the authorities concerned of the Collectorate are determined to surpass the revenue target set by Federal Board of Revenue.

It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC-Appraisement-West throughout the fiscal year 2014-15 has surpassed the revenue target in terms of its revenue collection.
