Multan Customs earns Rs1.836m from auction of seized goods

MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate Multan earned worth Rs1.836 million from the auction of different seized goods.
The auction was held at Multan Dry Port which led by Customs Deputy Collector (dry port) Multan Muhammad Ali Malik along with Appraisement Officer Ashraf Shah and Auction Officer Muhammad Akram.
There were four different vehicles put up for auction including a Toyota Corolla, Honda Accord, Toyota Premio. More than 20 people participated in the auction and they all bid in almost every auction including that of miscellaneous goods.
Toyota corolla was auctioned on highest bid of Rs10,80,000 and Toyota Premio was auctioned for Rs500,000.
There were also some miscellaneous goods which included dry batteries, microwave oven, grinding cutter and hubs of different machines put up for auction.
The list of vehicles put up for auction, was also changed due to court stay orders which confused the participants.
However, the deputy collector conducted the auction in a pleasant environment and those who won the bid paid the advance amount according to the policy.
On the occasion, the Deputy Collector told to Customs Today that he was keen to keep the auction process free, fair and transparent.
