ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad has earned Rs.48 million from the auction held on 26th of December financial year (FY2016-17).
According to details, the third auction of financial year 2016-17 was held under supervision of deputy collector. It was learnt that embassy and UN programme and cabinet division abandoned vehicles were also set for auction, which brought Rs.45 million income.
The offending and NDP vehicles were also set to sell along different goods including cosmetics, fabrics, solar panels, LDCs, and some other items. Out of dozens of lots, 12 lots of goods were sold against Rs 3 million. It is observed that process of auction was transparent and according to the Customs bylaws.
Collector MCC, Dr. Arslan, appreciated the deputy collector auction staff to make this effort a success, which was held on 26th of December FY2016-17.
People from different cities like Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Peshawar participated in the auction and paid 25% cash amount for buying vehicles and goods. Some participants (auctioneers) suggested Customs Today to arrange some open place for holding the auction activity as the existing place is congested.
