MCC Peshawar surpasses collection by Rs61m revenue during 13 days of October

PESHAWAR: The Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar has generated Rs660.971million revenue in 13 days of October against Rs598.78million in 13 days of October during previous FY2016-17. So the collectorate exceeded the collection of 13 days of last year’s October’s 13 days by Rs61million revenue.

The MCC Peshawar collected Rs298.94million Customs Duty in the first 13 days of October of current Financial Year 2017-18.

The MCC Peshawar surpassed the amount of Rs198.67million received during the first 13 days of October during previous Financial Year 2016-17.

The sources informed Customs Today on Friday that the Collector Customs House Peshawar Gul Rahman has ordered the raising of collection of duties at various customs stations of MCC Peshawar.

The Peshawar Customs has collected Rs167.56million of ST during the first 13 days of October of current Financial Year, which is Rs7million less than the amount of Rs160million of ST generated in the first 13 days of October during previous Financial Year 2016-17.

The collectorate has received an amount of Rs23.595million of ST on Imports in the above said period from the first of October to 13th of October of current FY against Rs18.56million generated in 13 days of October during previous FY.

The MCC Peshawar in the same way got Rs67.41million revenue by collection of ST on palm oil during the first 13 days of October of current FY 2017-18 against Rs50million received in 13 days of October during previous FY.

The Customs Collectorate Peshawar has generated Rs170.876million revenue by Collection of AIT in which Rs143.68million was collected on the AIT exports and Rs27.04million from the AIT Imports during the first 13 days of October during the current Financial Year against Rs155.78million of AIT generated in 13 days of October in previous FY 2016-17.

Gul Rahman stated that the Dry Port has collected Rs232.804million net revenue in the first 13 days of October during present FY.

The Bonded Ware House Peshawar has generated Rs99.79million during the first 13 days of October of current Financial Year.

The collector admired the activities being carried out for scrutinizing the revenue collection procedure adopted by the FBR officers to stop the flow of revenue by means of corruption for which 13 notices have been issued on tax evasion to various corporations and industries.

The collectorate also impounded seven vehicles, seized 35 kg hashish and four kg opium during raids carried out by the Anti-Smuggling Unit Peshawar during 13 days of October.
