MCCI organized two days handicrafts exhibition .‏

MULTAN: Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a two days exhibition of “Dastkaar Mela” to promote the local manufacturing handicrafts industry.

The purpose of exhibition was to promote the art work of this religion active in the world. Different handicrafts stalls were showing different goods including carpets, camel skin, Multani khussa, blue pottery, traditional embroidery dresses and glass art.

President Mian Iqbal Hussain expressed that handicrafts of this region reflect their talent in their art work and these exhibitions could convert this artwork into value cash which will support the local handicrafts industry.  Major purpose to promote this art work through these kinds of exhibitions is to bring this art work to commercial market in order to generate handsome revenue he urged.

Head of Department for International Development (DFID) Ben French from United Kingdom have also visited the exhibition at the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Multan. Mr. Ben also appreciated the exhibition and stated that these exhibitions will reduce poverty and help to build a prosperous and stable country.

He said deep-rooted poverty is denying opportunities to millions of people and undermining Pakistan’s long-term stability and prosperity.

Ben said: “Combating poverty and building a prosperous democratic Pakistan will help not only millions of poor Pakistanis, but it will also improve stability in the country, the region and beyond. President Mian Iqbal Hussain Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has concluded the two days exhibition in a gathering along with other members MCCI Office bearers.
