OTTAWA: McDonald’s Canada is calling it the Great Canadian Taste Adventure: McLobster not just down east and a chocolate Nanaimo sundae not just on the left coast.
The fast-food giant has rolled out its lobster roll sandwich, known as the McLobster, across Canada until June 30, or while supplies last. It’s priced at $7.49 plus tax.
There are four other “regional flavours” included in the summer promotion — maple and bacon poutine (Quebec curds), the sundae (Nanaimo crumble from B.C.), cottage country chicken (Ontario chicken) and the Western BBQ burger (Prairie beef).
The McLobster has been a summer tradition in Atlantic Canada for more than 10 years. It was available for a limited time in Ontario in 2013, but now is being offered at participating restaurants across the country for the first time.
“McDonald’s is always about making connections with our guests and being part of the fabric of Canada,” a company spokesperson said in an email.
“This campaign is a great way to celebrate diversity, the uniqueness of our country and regions, and of course, our proud Canadian sourcing story.”
