LONDON: MCLAREN plans to produce a more powerful variant of the McLaren 650S Coupe. This new version has been described as being “more powerful and track-focused” than the 650S Coupe.
McLaren’s new version of the supercar will premiere in March at the Geneva Motor Show and is expected to pay tribute to the 1997 F1 GTR “Long Tail.”
This presumption was given life after a teaser image showing a camouflage prototype with a longer rear end was published online. Aside from that, it can be distinguished by the new side air intakes positioned low while the rumoured “675 LT” name means the twin-turbo V8 3.8-litre engine will be boosted up to 675 HP.
The new car is also set to drop 100kg and production is reportedly capped at just 250 units. A track-only version could be launched as a more powerful replacement to the 650S Sprint.
