BEIJING: Mediatek wants to make an impact in the market, the company was among the first to support 64-bit chipsets and has been introducing pretty decent processors.
The MT6752 and MT6732 are two of the most popular ones among smartphone manufacturers. Their Helio X10 chips are being used by some flagship smartphones and now they have decided to introduce its successor.
According to a new report by a Chinese tech analyst, Mediatek showed Mediatek Helio X20 chipset at a special event to select companies like Xiomi, Vivo etc.
You’ll be excited to know that the chipset features 10-cores and is able to reach 70,000 points on AnTuTu Benchmark. If that turns out to be true, that means the chipset is 20,000 point ahead of X10, which stands at 50,000.
The Chinese analyst who brought us the news, also claims that this new chipset is planned for mass production by the end of the year.
Qualcomm has been dominating the mobile industry for a while now but MediaTek and its chipsets will put some serious pressure on the giant.
MT6795 has been well received by users, while on the other hand, Snapdragon 810 suffered from overheating issues and is criticized a lot for it.
If Qualcomm failed to impress users with its Snapdragon 820, we could see the dawn of MediaTek’s dominance in the market.
