“Spine delivered a strong global performance,” Doug King, Medtronic Spine president, said in a statement.

“We benefited from the strongest U.S. performance in almost four years, which offset weakness in some international markets,” King said. “This quarter further validates our strategy is working. We are producing tangible results, as we evolve our procedural solutions focus aided by Medtronic’s unique enabling technology. We are launching our procedures with sufficient quantities of instrument sets to supply the market. This has reinvigorated our sales force, resulting in strong adoption of newer technologies.”

Medtronic Spine has a global workforce of about 5,600, including about 1,300 in the Memphis area.
