Meetings scheduled to determine Customs values of several items

KARACHI: With the aim to determine customs values of several items, the Directorate General of Customs Valuation has scheduled meetings with the stakeholders, including importers, traders and industry representatives, for the whole month of July.

Pakistan Customs is establishing database values for about 2000-3000 different items which are not commensurate with international price trends. The department will revise customs values of beverages, used machinery, auto parts, electrical and office appliances, fabric and medical goods in first phase.

According to the schedule of third week of July, the first meeting of third week will be held on July 19 to determine customs values of Zipper & Zip Sliders, Solar Fans and ISO Propyl Alcohol, N-Propanol, N-Butanol, 180 Butanol, Cyclohexanon; second meeting will be convened on July 20 to determine Customs value of Chemicals & Dyes, Heavy Bike/Motorcycles, Electric Bulbs & Tube Lights; the Customs value of Contact Lenses (without power) and Ring Travellers will be determined on July 21; Multimedia Projectors, Projector Screen & Microphones on July 22 and the Customs value of Contact Lenses (without power) will be decided on July 23.
