Member Customs visits Customs House, FBR chairman due today

KARACHI: Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali Khan has visited Customs House, Karachi. Strict security measures were witnessed during his visit to Customs House.

Member Customs held several in-house meetings with Pakistan Customs officers related to field formations and Model Customs Collectorate of Preventive.

It is pertinent to mention here that Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Bajwa was also scheduled to visit Customs House, Karachi. However, he is likely to visit Customs House on Saturday (today).

According to FBR sources, Chairman Tariq Bajwa will take final briefings from all Pakistan Customs officers regarding the status of revenue collection by the end of fiscal year 2013-14.

It may be mentioned here that the FBR is struggling to avoid shortfall in the revenue target for the fiscal year 2013-14 which is due to end in nine days.
