Member Dr Irshad urges KP traders, TBA to help increase govt revenues

PESHAWAR: Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Dr Mohammad Irshad has visited the Regional Tax Office (RTO) and called on the local business community and members of Peshawar Tax Bar Association.

The Member (IR) operations urged the members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KPCCI) and tax bar to cooperate with the FBR for improving government revenues.

Representatives of Tax Bar as well as chamber of commerce apprised the member about the problems being faced by them in particular with respect to electronic filing of returns and slow space of issuance of refunds.

Dr Irshad assured them of full cooperation in this regard at the earliest. He said that the whole IRIS system is being revamped to facilitate them in filing of their returns of income and other relevant documents.

The bar and chamber members also highlighted some of their individual local tax issues. The member FBR issued directions to the Chief Commissioner and other senior officers to promptly address these problems. He also advised them to give timeline for resolution of these issues.

Dr Mohammad Irshad emphasised that FBR has fully authorised and mandated the Regional Chief Commissioners to resolve tax payers’ problems at their doorsteps.
