Member Majid acquits ADC Faiz Ali of misconduct charges

SIALKOT: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Administration Member Majid Qureshi has acquitted Additional Collector Sialkot Customs Faiz Ali of charges of misappropriation, corruption and misconduct.

Sources told Customs Today that an inquiry was initiated against the additional collector after receiving complaints about his alleged involvement in misappropriation, corruption, misconduct, etc. Administration Member Majid Qureshi appointed a senior official to hold the inquiry in the case.

The inquiry officer stated in his report that he the recorded statements of complainants and the additional collector but he found the customs officials innocent, as all the allegations against him were false.

The member reviewed the report and statements of both sides for decision. After reviewing the report, he acquitted the additional collector of charged levelled against him.

The sources said that complaints were filed against the officials after he refused to offer any illegal benefit to some people.

The officials at the Sialkot Customs hailed the decision announced by the FBR member in favour of the customs official.
