BERLIN: Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Concept gets green-lighted as the model should be hitting the assembly line quite soon.
The newest model to be signed by Mercedes-Benz is called the GLC Coupe Concept and it is nothing more than a new generation of the GLK coming with a sloping roofline. The vehicle will be hitting the production line, as expected, a fact confirmed by the company’s head of research and development, Thomas Weber, to The Detroit Bureau. According to our source, the model in question will be introduced, in a production version, after the unveil of the GLC and the GLS. Don’t expect it to hit the production line in its current form because it will be toned down and not look so aggressive.
As far as the engine line-up goes, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is believed to share it with the C-Class. This means that it will get the small units and also the range-topping version, the GLC Coupe 63 AMG, equipped with the 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine, rated at 476 HP (350 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, also found on the AMG GT. The GLC Coupe Concept has made its debut at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show and it has a 3.0 liter bi-turbo V6 engine under its hood, producing a total of 367 HP (270 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission which is sending power to the 4MATIC AWD system.
