Mercedes-Benz launches C-Class diesel in India for Rs 46 lakhs with 19.27 km per litre

NEW DELHI: Mercedes-Benz has launched the C-Class diesel today and even the existing petrol model of C200 CGI will be locally assembled in India. The C-Class will be made available in two trim levels, first is the C220 CDI Style and the second is the C220 CDI Avantgarde.

The new C-Class four-cylinder diesel engine is the most fuel efficient in the segment with a fuel efficiency of 19.27 km per litre as per the ARAI fuel efficiency cycle. Together with a large fuel tank capacity of 66 litres it gives the customers freedom to explore places around them without worrying about frequent trips to the fuel station. The engine also boasts of ECO start/stop function which helps in saving fuel and reducing emissions. This is a 2.2-litre engine that produces 170bhp of power and 400Nm of peak torque.

The new C 220 CDI STYLE diesel is priced at Rs. 39.90 lakhs, and the new C 220 CDI AVANTGARDE diesel is priced at Rs. 42.90 lakhs (prices ex-showroom Delhi) and available for sales in dealerships across the country. The approximate on-road pricing is Rs 46 lakhs and Rs 49 lakhs in Delhi.
