NEW DELHI: We’ve been talking about it for a while now and the German car manufacturer has finally made it official. Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the C-Class diesel on the 11th of February.

The company had launched the petrol variant of the C-Class last year and the new year started with a bang with the launch of the CLA. The C-Class diesel, like its petrol cousin, will first be introduced as a CBU and CKD operations will commence at a later stage. People have been looking forward to the diesel version and while it was thought, that it would take sometime introducing the product, Mercedes-Benz surprises us with this news.

It is most likely that the C-Class diesel will come powered by a 2.2-litre engine which generates about 170bhp and of course the no-brainer here will be the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. There will be only a single variant on offer and will be priced a little higher than its competitors, the Audi A4 and the BMW 3-series. Of course, when Mercedes-Benz India commence CKD operations, the price will be a major factor to look out for.
