Mercedes launches AMG GT S in Australia for 295,000 AUD, plus on-road costs

SYDNEY: Mercedes has introduced the new AMG GT S in Australia where the sports car costs 295,000 AUD, plus on-road costs.

The Mercedes-AMG GT will only be available in the GT S specification in Australia and this will be launched in July in the Pacific country, being priced from 295,000 AUD, plus on-road costs. The model in question is getting the standard AMG Dynamic Plus package with the dynamic engine and transmission mounts, damper tune within the multi setting adjustable suspension, tauter spring, adapted speed sensitive sports steering wheel and more negative camber and the front axle. Optional features include the carbon ceramic disc brakes, the electronic controlled locking differential, 19-inch front with 35-aspect tires and 20-inch rear with 30-aspect tires.

Safety systems found on the sports car are the collision prevention assist plus, the adaptive high-beam assist, the attention assist, the adaptive braking, rearview camera with semi-automatic reverse parking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor and so on. Power is being provided by a new 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is capable of producing a total output of 375 kW, between 6,000 rpm and 6,500 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 650 Nm, available between 1,750 rpm and 5,000 rpm. From 0 to 100 km/h, the model needs 3.8 seconds. For 314,900 AUD, plus on-road costs, Australians can also order the AMG GT S Edition 1, which is adding some extra tweaks to it. Only 100 units of the AMG GT S will be offered in Australia this year, despite the demand being twice as high.
