HELSINKI: Rovaniemi Energia and Napapiirin Vesi will be merged in the beginning of June into Napapiirin Energia ja Vesi Oy.
Napapiiri Energy and Water’s annual sales will rise to 70 million euros, and the number of employees will be approximately 150. The operation will be responsible for covering water services for the entire City of Rovaniemi. According to Managing Director Markus Tykkyläinen, the merger will bring cost-effectiveness and the conditions for increasingly stronger development.
The new company’s operating area covers the entire city of Rovaniemi. It will also be a major player provincially. The City of Rovaniemi Concern organised and arranged the formation of this new group to handle the community’s basic services. The merger will create the best possible framework and conditions for the growing challenges of energy and water management.
“This acquisition is a demonstration of confidence from the owners of the City of Rovaniemi. Naturally, our customers have a right to expect more efficient operations and business developments,” Tykkyläinen said, adding during the spring, a number of opportunities for skills have been found, extending cooperation across business boundaries. “This work will continue.” Napapiiri Energy and Water is now the parent company of Ranua Bioenergy, Rovaniemi Power, Kolari Heat, Rovaniemi Network and Napapiiri Water.
