NEW YORK: The metal case of the upcoming iPhone 6s just leaked online. Android fans regard September as the month they get to finally see what Samsung has in store with its next-generation Galaxy Note phablet, while iOS fans are treated to Apple’s latest and greatest iPhones. Samsung is widely expected to continue its annual tradition of unveiling a new Galaxy Note phablet at IFA in Berlin, which takes place from Sept. 4 through Sept. 9.

Current reports suggest that Samsung will use a similar design to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with the Note 5, which means users can expect an ultra-slim phablet built out of premium metal and glass and a quad-HD display between 5.5 and 5.7-inches, and of course the Note series’ popular S Pen stylus. Images for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 haven’t leaked yet, but the same can’t be said for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6s, as images of what is reportedly the Smartphone’s metal case have leaked online.

9To5Mac has posted images it has received from a reliable source that claims the images are of Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6s. While the case appears identical to the current iPhone 6, there are signs that show the device will feature major internal changes. The changes are believed to be due to Apple adding Force Touch to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The iPhone 6s metal case shown is for the silver variant, and Apple is expected to add a new rose gold color option in addition to the space gray and gold colors currently offered.

Just like previous iPhone “s” moniker devices, the 6s and 6s Plus will retain the overall look of its predecessors but include a brand new feature to entice users to upgrade, even if the design is the same. The iPhone 4s introduced Siri and the iPhone 5s debuted Apple’s Touch ID sensor that allows users to unlock their devices and that authorize Apple Pay payments in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus news as it becomes available.
