BAKERSFIELD: A Mexican citizen was sentenced Monday to five years in U.S. federal prison for a cocaine smuggling case that involved a Shafter man.
Jose Luis Montoya-Salazar, aka Rafael Salazar-Sanchez, 43, is the third defendant to be sentenced in the case.
Jimmy Gil, 35, of Shafter, was sentenced to five years in prison in July.
The drugs were smuggled from Mexico and brought to Bakersfield.
