Separately, ICTSI has acquired Terminal Marítima de Tuxpan (TMT) from the TMM Group for $55m, leaving it with 100% of the equity. TMT was set up to build and operate the Port of Tuxpan in the Mexican state of Veracruz, which is dominated by its container terminal.

The acquisition of TMT has been justified as a means of increasing and diversifying ICTSI’s operations in Mexico, in particular expanding its presence on the Gulf Coast.
