Mian Aslam inaugurates International Rawal Expo 2019

RAWALPINDI: The five day International Rawal Expo 2019 being organized by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has been formally inaugurated here at Ayub Park Rawalpindi, on Wednesday. Punjab Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion.

Punjab Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal appreciated the role of RCCI in promoting business activities in the region and congratulated on successful organizing of Rawal Expo 2019. It was laudable that more than 12 countries including China, Malaysia are participating in the expo, he added.

He said expos play a vital role in boosting business activity. The situation in the country has been improved and trade activities are flourishing and Expo centers are being established in different cities of Pakistan. A 60 acre land has been allotted for an Expo Center in Faisalabad. Rawalpindi will get its Expo Center very soon, he pledged. Industrial Zones are being established under CPEC fourth phase and there will be tax holiday of ten years to promote and revive industries in the Country.

While commenting on the recent torrential rain spell, the minister assured that Punjab Government is collecting data and will address the grievances of farmers.  We are expecting a bumper crop and an estimated figure that around 1.19 million ton wheat will be produced, he further informed.

While commenting on economic condition of the country the minister said that things are moving in the right directions. We took measures to stable balance of payments and we are hopeful that exports will be on track soon. Later Punjab minister visited various displays and commended the work of emerging entrepreneurs.

President Malik Shahid Saleem  said the expo aimed to increase business activity and provide people with entertainment. More than 200 stalls have been installed covering various range of business including food, SME and electronics. A business-to-business (B2B) conference will also be held on sidelines of the Expo and we are expecting multi-memorandum of understandings between local and foreign companies during the five day expo, he said.

Throughout the five day exhibition, industrial products will be displayed and buyers will have the opportunity to book orders on the spot. Industrial products, garments, leather goods and furniture will be showcased, and an auto-show, a puppet show, a food court and a children’s playing area, and a family gala, will also be held as part of the expo. The Expo will be concluded on April 21.
