Mianwali ASO impounds smuggled ceramic tiles

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali recovered non customs paid foreign origin smuggled ceramic tiles worth Rs2.3 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Muhammad Saleem has directed ASO Mianwali to start crackdown against smuggled goods.

Customs ASO enhanced the monitoring and patrolling of suspected routes in the territory for curbing menace of smuggled goods.

Mianwali Customs formed special anti smuggling squads to take action against smuggled goods. Customs ASO intercepted a Hino truck near M.M Alam Road Mianwali and recovers foreign origin ceramic tiles 1890 cartons of different size brand and origin were loaded on a truck of a goods company.

ASO squad asked accused person to produce legal documents but they were failed to produce it. Customs teams seized all recovered ceramic tiles and vehicle under Customs Act 1969. Further investigations were still under proceedings.
