Mianwali ASO impounds smuggled Pajero during crackdown

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization ( ASO ), Mianwali impounded three door Pajero during an action near Toll Plaza M.M Road district Mianwali . The market value of seized vehicle is Rs 7,25,400 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 3,25,400.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan received information that some non-duty paid vehicles are being used by the people and they are operating the same on the roads of the city.

After receiving information, the deputy collector instructed Superintendent Choudhary Muhammad Sardar to depute a team and use all available resources to nab these non-duty paid vehicles.

The superintendent and his team comprising Inspector Amir Ali, Bashir Ali, Ansar Saleemi, and sepoys Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Mansha, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Ashraf and others started checking of vehicles.

The ASO taem intercepted a Mitsubishi Pajero jeep bearing registration no. BD-9873 (Sindh).

The team asked the owner Ghulam Abbas to show documents regarding legal import of the items. But he could not produce any relevant documents. After his failure ASO team confiscated the vehicle and forward the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
