Mianwali ASO seizes non duty paid safety glass wind screen, vehicle

MIANWALI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized foreign origin safety glass wind screens. The market value of the seized item is Rs14131200 and also impounded Hino truck on Thursday 30.8.2018.

Sources told to Customs Today, that Collector Asif Mehmood Jah received secret information that non duty paid are being transported from Karachi to Mianwali through Hino truck bearing registration no: TLF-618 Quetta without payment of duty and taxes.

He immediately formed ASO team comprising Superintendent Chaudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspectors Malik Atif Mumtaz, Bashir Ahmed, and Sepoys Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Mansha and Naeem Ullah.

The ASO team intercepted the truck near Chasma bridge district Mianwali and asked driver who was identified as Amanullah to produce legal documents regarding possession of safety glass wind screen 22000 kilograms but he remained failed to provide any relevant documents. ASO team seized the goods and vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceeding.
