KARACHI: Kamran Michael Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping said government accepted the concerns and suggestions of the stakeholders to promote the most vital sector of the country.
He was speaking at the fifth Professionals Shipping, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Conference and Exhibition.
Minister said shipping and logistics support services in shambles in our country, infrastructure in a dilapidated state and supply chain management depends on out sourcing.
He assured the participant of the conference of his full assistance for the growth and development of warehousing and port in the country and also promised to redress the grievances of the business community.
Participants appeal the government to release the burden of indirect and withholding taxes which come as a big threat for supply chain management entrepreneurs.
They urged the government to reduce the custom duty on the import of pre engineered building (Warehouse) and place it on zero rating, thus this will encourage the growth of warehousing in the country.
